The Tamil Nadu State Indian Medical Association (IMA) hosted its annual conference, TIMACON 2024, on December 14 and 15, in Salem. This prestigious event recognizes the outstanding contributions of IMA branches across the state in healthcare, education, and community welfare.
IMA Tiruvarur made a significant impact at this year’s TIMACON by showcasing its dedication and excellence in organizing various impactful programs throughout the year. The branch’s notable initiatives included:
- Eye Donation Awareness Day: Promoting awareness about the importance of eye donation and its life-changing impact.
- Breastfeeding Awareness Day: Educating mothers and the community on the critical benefits of breastfeeding for infant health.
- Jeevan 2.0 Project: A comprehensive project addressing healthcare needs and promoting healthy living.
- Basic Life Support Awareness Programs: Empowering college students with essential life-saving skills through hands-on training sessions.
- Appreciation Awards for Exemplary Performance: Recognizing and encouraging excellence among medical professionals and students.
- Formation of Junior Doctors’ Association: Creating a support network for junior doctors to enhance collaboration and professional development.
- Medical Student Network Formation: Establishing a platform for medical students to engage, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects.
- Monthly CME for Doctors: Regularly conducting Continuing Medical Education programs to ensure doctors stay updated with the latest advancements in medicine.
Acknowledging these remarkable achievements, the State IMA President, Dr. Abul Hassan, presented awards to the IMA Tiruvarur team. The honors were proudly received by Dr. EMGS Gopalakrishna Pandiyan (President, IMA Tiruvarur), Dr. Ravindra Babu (Secretary, IMA Tiruvarur), and Dr. Anish Sunder Narayanan (Finance Secretary, IMA Tiruvarur).
The TIMACON 2024 conference served as a platform to celebrate the spirit of service, collaboration, and innovation demonstrated by IMA Tiruvarur and other branches across Tamil Nadu.
